Meet us at the Medica and METSTRADE shows next week to discuss how we can improve your organisation’s maritime and global connectivity

11 November 2022

Our team of global connectivity experts will be in The Netherlands and Germany next week for two major trade shows, METSTRADE and MEDICA. They will be meeting customers, partners, suppliers - and prospective new customers, partners and suppliers – to discuss how Telecom26’s maritime and global connectivity services are improving operations in the shipping, boating and digital healthcare sectors.

Discussing maritime and global connectivity at METSTRADE

METSTRADE in Amsterdam from 15-17 November is the world’s largest trade exhibition for the marine leisure industry and is a valuable platform for innovation, market developments and networking since our launch in 1988.

In addition to the overall leisure marine industry, the show also covers Superyachts, Marinas and Yards and Construction materials.

You can register here for a free ticket.

As a global maritime and global connectivity operator, Telecom26 has a complete range of maritime connectivity solutions for vessels, crews, devices, smart containers and whomever and whatever needs to be connected whilst at sea – or in port.

What’s more, our 5G and 4G coverage gives our customers the highest speed, with outstanding, low-latency performance.

We offer bespoke maritime and marine communications services that integrate inbound and outbound roaming, with full support of data services. Fortunately, the maritime connectivity services provided by Telecom26 that enable crews to communicate with their loved ones, watch Netflix, do their banking online etc use the same infrastructure necessary to support the digital transformation of operations on-board including IoT.

Our maritime connectivity services include:

  • A full Cellular At Sea service for vessels of all sizes
  • A Nearshore Connectivity Service - Our recent blog “Nearshore Connectivity - perfect for vessels up to 30km off the coast” discusses how most ships and vessels spend the majority (up to 60%) of their time in port or in coastal waters. They are therefore within range of land-based cellular networks which can provide coverage to vessels as far out as 30km. So, instead of relying on costly satellite for data or connectivity, vessels – and the people on-board - can use these cellular networks.
  • Networks for personal communications, onboard
  • A Maritime IoT Service including private networks on-board vessels, oil rigs and platforms – and supply chain tracking.
  • connectivity to marinas, ports – and inland ports. From small leisure boat only marinas on sunny shores to the largest commercial ports in the world.
  • Mobile Private Networks at sea – enabling vessels of all shapes and sizes to have their own mobile private networks (MPN) on-board in the same way businesses on land have private terrestrial networks over fibre, wireless or satellite on their business premises.

Providing global connectivity to digital healthcare programmes

The Medica Healthcare Forum “brings together innovators, tech entrepreneurs, investors and industry experts. It is the global hotspot for the latest technologies and innovations driving digital transformation in healthcare”.

Topics that will be discussed include connected medical things, AI and big data, robotics, health monitoring and diagnostics and mobile health.

These are all subjects that the Telecom26 medical connectivity team are very familiar with, and we are looking forward to joining in the discussions.

Healthcare is just one of the market verticals that Telecom26 is working within to improve global connectivity.

Telecom26, IoT and the need for always-on reliable connectivity

Telecom26 has been providing IoT global connectivity to digital healthcare programmes across the world for several years.

Our previous blog IoT healthcare and the need for global connectivity discusses the growth in the market with predictions that “the global internet of medical things (IoMT) market is expected to swell to a $158 billion valuation in 2022, up from $41 billion in 2017”.

In a nutshell, we are providing IoT globa connectivity to the ehealth and mobile health services of SystemOne across Africa - Ghana, Lesotho, Malawi Mozambique and Zimbabwe - and in Bangladesh.

SystemOne is a pioneer in the rollout of ehealth and mobile health solutions across the world, implementing the digital backbone for medical diagnostics, and managing data for testing programmes for TB, HIV, Malarai, Ebola - and, most recently, COVID-19.

Telecom26 - your partner for global connectivity

At the heart of Telecom26’s global connectivity service are our global eSIMs and physical SIM cards.

Just one of our eSIMs in any type of device that needs global connectivity

  • Provides access to all of the networks covered by our global roaming service. That’s 1100+ cellular networks belonging to 650+ mobile operators in 200+ countries.
  • Removes the need to worry about the coverage of a single MNO, or the existence of roaming alliances. Our eSIMs select the best performing network in the area, cross-border, while providing enterprises with the freedom to change SIM profiles and services with ease.
  • Can be customised with routing profiles built for each IoT device according to a customer’s needs and budget. For example, for organisations that are more price sensitive we can ensure that our Global eSIM cards automatically connect to the cheapest service in the area.

In a nutshell, Telecom26 enables data connectivity, anywhere - so that your device can connect to the best available network, regardless of location.
