Even more features come as standard in Telecom26’s global connectivity packages

17 November 2023

In last week’s blog The standard features in Telecom26’s global connectivity packages are far from standard, our global connectivity and maritime connectivity teams discussed five of the features that come as standard in our mobile service: OTA Encryption; Mutual Authentication; Multi-Factor Authentication; Network Function Virtualisation and Secure Connectivity.

In this blog we will examine five other features that are included:

  • APIs
  • SIM Blocking
  • Multi-IMSI support
  • SIM jacker protection
  • IMEI lock

APIs to drive integration and control

We provide a comprehensive suite of APIs that can be exposed to partners. Each interface is secured with TLS. The APIs include interfaces for the SIM management portal, SMSC, modems and routers, for example. Users – customers, service providers and others – can uses these to manage device fleets, obtain insights,

and manage messaging.

Benefits

  • Secure data transfer and transit
  • Maintain data integrity
  • Separate traffic and protect against DOS threats

SIM Blocking - Control SIMs in the field

Enterprise administrators can remotely block any SIM or eSIM used in any of the devices in the field. Once blocked, the SIM will be completely out of service and unavailable for any use, protecting against fraudulent or suspicious activities. Blocked SIMs can be unblocked at any time, with seamless restoration of service.

Benefits

  • Protect against fraudulent behaviour
  • Instant control to respond to observed suspicious activities
  • Global control and management

SIMjacker provides protection against common threats

SIMjacker attacks target remote SIM-enabled devices that run vulnerable SMS toolkit applications (such as the S@T browser) by sending fake (or manipulated) OTA message. They can seek to inject malicious code. Such attacks can expose private information or enable remote control of the devices in the field.

Benefits

  • Complete protection from SIMJacker attacks
  • Active filtering of all illegitimate OTA messages
  • Removal of vulnerable S@T browser application

Multi-IMSI Support - options to extend network connectivity

Each Telecom26 subscriber can utilise up to 8 different IMSI profiles to extend network connectivity options. Users can switch IMSI automatically via Telecom26, or manually via a dedicated application on the device.

Benefits

  • Use multiple SIM identities to access more networks
  • Limit tracking possibilities and potential for attack
  • IMSIs from Telecom26 Italy, UK, Netherlands, The Philippines, Chile, UAE, and Azerbaijan

IMEI lock to reduce fraud and theft

When the device identity (IMEI) registered with the SIM changes, Telecom26 can automatically block the SIM, preventing fraud. This means that stolen

SIMs cannot be used in other devices. The feature enables unblocking and also support legitimate device changes.

Benefits

  • Prevent unauthorised device changes
  • Protect against fraud with real-time controls
  • Effective control for your devices and SIMs

Get in touch for global connectivity

Telecom26’s customers include enterprises, OEMs and NGOs who want a single delivery partner, cross-border solutions and network coverage that is secure, resilient and can be tailored to meet specific and evolving needs.

If you’d like to organise a video call to discuss how we can help improve the global connectivity of your team when they are out and about including maritime connectivity and IoT connectivity please get in touch.

And, of course, as a full operator member of the GSMA, we’ll be at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. S if you’d like to meet in-person please get in touch.
